Trigger Path is a company specializing in local search marketing. They’ve developed a unique marketing technique and analysis called the Local Authority Blueprint that is designed to vastly increase a company’s exposure in local online venues. Needing an easy way to manage content, expecially media, within their website, WordPress was the obvious choice for a development platform. After some initial consultations and detailed mockups, the client and I decided to use the Streamline Theme from StudioPress, given that it has extensive templates available for customization. Along with all the design work and some significant changes to the layout of the home page, I also designed a custom logo for the company as part of the build. The sidebar and page templates all were re-done to meet the requirements of the site, including video integration and a newsletter signup functionality within the header. From concept to completion, TriggerPath.com took about 3 weeks to put together. With all the marketing experience of the client, I expect it to do extremely well in the search engines.

One of my most involved custom logo design projects has been Sohe Organics. A small company selling lotions, shampoos, moisterizers and more, Sohe produces all of their products by hand and uses only 100% organic ingredients. The owner of Sohe found me through Seattle Logo Design, my custom logo design business that I’ve been running since 2004. After an initial meeting to discuss ideas and share research, I provided 3 initial design concepts, to which the client responded with:

“WOW! I’m loving these concepts! I’m still at work, but had to take a look so will get back to you with more details/feedback tonight on these three. I really liked the third one quite a bit………and am looking forward to another look and to see your other concepts.”

Sohe needed a logo that would really convey the organic aspects of the products, while still being playful and professional. The logo also had to work on product labels for things like soap, so that gave the srtwork some guidelines that needed to be followed. Overall, I did over 20 different logo variations for Sohe before the client and I agreed on the final version. Sohe Organics will be featured at the Edmonds Farmers Market, displaying a large banner with the final custom logo.

The Lowry Real Estate Group are Seattle Real Estate Agents that needed a professional, stylish website that showcased their listings in a beautiful way and could still be flexible with new information. I used the Agent WordPress Theme from StudioPress to build the site, and both the client and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Along with the obvious front end customizations, like a new logo, header, footer, body and sidebar elements, I re-wrote the custom listing write panel to meet the Lowry’s needs and integrated an IDX NWMLS Search Tool so users can search current home listings. I also optimized the site for search engines and social media, built an external Seattle Real Estate blog for additional exposure, created an intelligent press release, and much more. The site ranks extremely well, pulls in amazing traffic and leads, and is featured in the StudioPress design showcase.

Seattle Logo Design was built for the purpose of showcasing my custom logo design portfolio. I built the site in WordPress using the Bust-A-Theme Coda Blue Slider Theme from Greg Johnson. The development, design and content took about 4 days to complete, one of my fastest builds. The slider is jQuery based and actually makes the site all one page and extremely search engine friendly. I did a complete overhaul of the original theme for my design, including a restructuring of the header, nav, content areas and footer. I also integrated a logo design questionnaire into the theme and a secure client area that allows my logo design clients to view concepts and provide feedback right from the site. Obviously, I also designed the custom logo for Seattle Logo Design and all the logos in the portfolio.

Months in the making, kristianthemstrup.com is undergoing the final stages of construction. Although I’m treating this like masses of adoring fans have been hanging on my every word, anticipating the release of such an important and news-worthy site, I know it’s not the truth. But that isn’t going to stop me from acting like it, so be patient as I explain the process by which what you’re reading came about.

I’ve been doing WordPress design since early 2008, and I’ve got a good number of builds in my portfolio. My typical work is in CMS-based sites, just because more of my clients have leaned that way. Taking WordPress out of the blog platform is where I really saw the software going, and I’m glad many theme designers have taken that direction seriously. From simple four page info sites that took just a few days, to complex, 40 page script-heavy monsters that took a month or two, I’ve had my hand in many different builds. But I didn’t have a central location to consolidate them all, a portfolio if you will. That’s where kristianthemstrup.com comes in. This site will take my design and development work and wrap it up into a vain little package. Having said that, you can expect more of my portfolio work to be added in the coming weeks and months.

I also thought I might have a few things to contribute to the WordPress and internet marketing community, so a blog would be in order. Luckily, this software integrates that well. All in all, I’ll be showcasing my web design work, logo design work from my independently-run business Seattle Logo Design, and anything else that creatively falls from my hands and lips. One big exhale of egotistical ingenuity, with a touch of substance and value.

Thanks for enduring this initial diatribe, something pretty common if you know anything about me. If you’d like to hire me, have questions or just want to get in touch, you can contact me.
